Tonight’s Superstars saw Steve Redgrave’s White team take on Kelly Holmes’ Red team. There were five challenges tonight – Football dribble and shoot, Rock climbing, Athletics, Gym Test and Diving.

Lee Sharpe was expected to do well in the Football Challenge but missed one shot at goal. Graham Thorpe did well for Kelly’s team scoring three goals in 48sec, but Alain Baxter won with three goals in 41.4sec.

The rock climbing challenge was also won Alain Baxter. Alain Baxter is proving himself to be a dominant figure in the competition at the moment.

On the track Iwan Thomas stormed ahead in the 100m sprint, crossing the line in 10.95s with Alain Baxter close behind, finishing in 12.1s.

Roberto Di Matteo won the long jump for the Reds, making 4.91m and Steve Redgrave came in second at 4.73m.

The Gym Test saw Alain Baxter winning again. This weeks gym test involved squat thrusts, dips, cycling and rowing. Alain Baxter won on squat thrusts and dips, Iwan Thomas won in the cycling and rowing.

In the final test, diving, 14 year old British Olympic hopeful Tom Daleydemonstrated to the teams how a dive should be done, before joining the other judges. Alain Baxter won the diving competition with the most difficult dive.

Next week on Superstars teams Blue and Yellow compete against each other. So far it looks like Alain Baxter is going to dominate the competition for Steve Redgraves White Team.

    I have always enjoyed watching super stars but this year am routing for the white team as I am a huge fan of Lee Sharpe having met him in a charity golf competition held in La Manga. So come on Lee, show them what you’re made of. That smile of yours is definitely a winner in my books!
