If you have seen the new Reebok adverts recently for their new EasyTone shoes for women, then you may be impressed with the claims that these shoes can help tone a shape thigh and glutes. You may also be impressed with the fitness model that appears in the adverts. If you want to know who she is, then head over to “Lose Weight, Flat Stomach” as they have revealed her identity! She is the new face of Reebok, or should we say, the body of Reebok!

The exercise and fashion industries cynically misinform women and men. As a former athlete I have had the incentive and means to learn the principles of exercise. No athlete could ever take this product seriously. And should it need to be said, a person who wants to look good has to do mostly the same stuff as an athlete who wants to get fit: looking fit means getting fit.
Reebok are marketing their product to people looking for an easy way to get fit, but this is impossible precisely because increased fitness is a biological response to the stress of hard exercise. Wearing these trainers may make walking to work slightly harder, but that still amounts to very, very easy exercise – once you’ve adapted to this small extra stimulus, your progress will stall. I don’t think you’d even see any difference at all to your appearance.
I have nothing to sell and have distilled my own findings on the easiest possible effective workout here:
http://thedailyg.wordpress.com/2010/04/25/the-simple-short-free-universal-workout-2/
It’s hard in terms of effort but involves the least possible time (20mins per week) and expense ($0).
If you want to get fit from walking to work every day I suggest wearing concrete-filled buckets on your feet.
